Mr. P.S. March

All that was mortal of the venerable Mr. P.S. March, formerly of this city, who 
departed this life in New York, Saturday, arrived here at noon yesterday on the 
Old Dominion Steamer Princess Anne, accompanied by relatives. They were met at 
the steamer’s wharf by friends and escorted to the First Baptist Church, where 
the funeral services were conducted at 2 o’clock p.m. by Rev. E. B. Hatcher, 
pastor of the church, assisted by Rev. Dr. M.B. Wharton of Freemason Street 
Baptist Church. The remains were laid to rest in Elmwood Cemtery. Following 
were the pall-bearers: Col. W. B. Rogers, Messrs. Joseph T. Allyne, T.B. 
Anderson, C. Billups and Captain W.E. Taylor
