She was born in Scranton, Pa., to the late Edward Ruane and Catherine Connell Ruane, and made her home in Trooper, Pa., prior to moving to Virginia Beach eight years ago. She was a homemaker and the wife of Raymond Patrick Marion. She was a Roman Catholic and a member of the Church of the Ascension in Virginia Beach. She was a member of the Irish-American Society and was active in numerous ministries at the Church of the Ascension, including the Rainbow Seniors Club of Ascension, and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Ruane. In addition to her husband, she is survived by their sons and daughters, Mary Margaret Yanisko and her husband, Richard, of Virginia Beach, Patrick Marion and his wife, Linda, of Norristown, Pa., Raymond Marion of Virginia Beach, Catherine Henrick and her husband, James, of Clemmons, N.C., Theresa Adams and her husband, Greg, of Rahns, Pa., Frank Marion of Virginia Beach, Paul Marion and his wife, Donna, of Norristown, Pa., and Richard Marion and his wife, Shelly, of Norristown; a brother, Edward Ruane of Florida; two sisters, Patricia Panu of Connecticut and Cathy Connell of Florida; 14 grandchildren, Cara, Beth and Paul Yanisko, Peter and Alicia Marion , James and Jennifer Henricks, Rosemary Adams, Dana, Daniel, Thomas and Michael Marion, Brendon Marion and Jacob Marion; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Church of the Ascension. The family will receive friends in the church prior to the service from 5 p.m. until service time. Burial will be held Thursday in St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery in Norfolk. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Social Ministry of the Church of the Ascension, 4853 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
