Virginian-Pilot  December 1, 1969
NORFOLK - William J. Marley, 71, of 1410 W. 49th St., died in a hospital Sunday.
He was the husband of the late Mrs. Martha Marley and a son of John and Mrs. 
Mary McTagne Marley.
A native of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., he formerly lived in Baltimore and here 11 years. 
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Chapel.
He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Mary J. Bridges of Norfolk, Mrs. Brinley 
Fried, Mrs. William Clary, Mrs. Jerome Bosch, and Mrs. Jerald Jacobs of 
Baltimore; four sisters, Miss Stella Marley, Miss Ruth Marley, Mrs. William 
Connell, and Mrs. John Hodrebe of Wilkes-Barre; 19 grandchildren; and three 
great-grandchildren.
A Requiem Mass will be said in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Chapel, 37th Street 
and Colley Avenue, Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
The Office of the Dead will be recited in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments 
tonight at 7:30.
