NORFOLK - Mrs. Mamie Baines Marois, 69, wife of Peter V. Marois and daughter of 
the late Robert W. and Mrs. Mary Rawles Baines, a native of Cypress Chapel and a 
resident of Norfolk for the past 45 years, died Tuesday at 2:10 p.m. at the 
residence, 387 W. Ocean View Ave.
For 35 years, Mr. and Mrs. Marois owned and operated a grocery store at Fourth 
View street and West Ocean View Avenue, Ocean View, retiring 12 years ago.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Wagner and 
Mrs. Vivian Cabaniss, both of Norfolk; two grandsons; two brothers, Ernest H. 
Baines and Sydney Baines, , both of Norfolk, and several nieces and nephews.
The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Holy Trinity 
Catholic Church, Ocean View, of which Mrs. Marois was a member, for funeral 
services Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary 
services will be conducted at the funeral apartments today at 7:30 p.m.
