Funeral services will be conducted at the residence MONDAY AFTERNOON, January 5, at 3 o'clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment Magnolia Cemetery. ************ George Edward Marshall, 81, died at his home, 1324 South Main Street, yesterday morning at 8:15 o'clock. He was one of the best known citizens on this side of the river and was highly esteemed. He was a native of Talbot County, Md., but had spent 36 years of his life in Tidewater Virginia and 40 years with the Tunis Lumber Company. He is survived by the following children: Howard A Marshall, Mrs. Lawrence Tucker, Mrs. Westley Hodges, Walter K. Marshall, Mrs. Russell Morrisett, E.C. Marshall, Carroll Marshall, of this section and Mrs. W. G. White, of Mt. Vernon, N.Y. Twenty-two grandchildren and one great grandchild survive him. He was a member of Berkley Avenue Baptist Church and the oldest member of Chesapeake Tribe No. 50, I.O.R.M. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the family residence by the Rev. Beecher L. Rhodes, pastor of his church.
