Funeral services were conducted at Union C. C. Church recently for George  
Robert Martin, 51, of 966 Sheldon avenue, Norfolk, who died at Virginia Beach.  
The Rev. Z. P. Jenkins, pastor, officiated and delivered the eulogy.

He was a merchant seaman for several years, and was a veteran of World War II.  
He ended his work as merchant seaman last year.  For a number of years Mr. 
Martin was a familiar figure on the golf course in the Norfolk area.

Mr. Martin was the son of the late David and Mrs. Alice Martin.  He was a native 
of Norfolk.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Addie Martin;  one daughter, Miss Beverly 
Atkins Martin, Virginia Beach;  one sister, Mrs. Ella Louise Lynch, Norfolk;  
two brothers, Decovin Martin and Walter Martin Sr., both of Nofolk;  one nephew, 
Walter Martin Jr., of Norfolk and other relatives.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Name on death certificate: George Robert Martin, not Robert Martin.
