NORFOLK – Mrs. Vass D. Martin of 805 Park Ave., the widow of Junious Martin and 
a native of Henderosn, N.C., died Tuesday in her home.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Bute Street, and its Female Usher 
Board and missionary society, and Cornelia Tent 62.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Stith of the Bronx, N.Y. and Mrs. 
Martha Luter of Brooklyn; and nine grandchildren.

A funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church, Bute Street, 
by the Rev. LeVert Taylor. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will 
be at Hale Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 8. The body will be in church at noon 
Thursday. The family will be at 2412 Virginia Beach Blvd.
