Norfolk - Katherine Ann Martin, 86, passed on Tuesday October 20th, in her home, 
after a brave battle with Alzheimer's. Katherine was born in Norfolk on January 
16, 1929, to the late John & Florence Hatton. She attended Saint Mary's Catholic 
School. Katherine was preceded by her loving husband of 69 years, Herman Martin; 
three sisters, Mary Hatton, Dorothy Taylor & Rosa Lee Jefferson. Katherine raised 
eight children, Jean Browne, Bill Martin and wife Betty, John Martin and fiancé 
Bette, Steve Martin and wife Jackie, Richard Martin, Kathy Callahan and husband 
Randy, Sandra Montagna and husband Lucian, Jerry Martin and wife Janet. She had 30 
grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Katherine 
was a long time member of Christ the King Catholic Church and of The Ladies of the 
Knights of Columbus. A visitation will be held at the Norfolk Chapel of H.D. 
Oliver Funeral Apartments Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. The Funeral 
Mass will be held 11:00a.m. Monday, October 26, 2015, at Christ the King Catholic 
Church in Norfolk, followed by burial at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Memorial 
Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, 
Chicago, IL 60601-7633. Online condolences may be shared with the family at
