James G. Martin, a prominent citizen of Norfolk County, who after a brief illness of 10 days, breathed his last, last Sunday morning at 2 o'clock at his residence in Berkley. Col. Martin was a member of the bar and has been a well known practitioner for many years. A meeting of the members of the bar of the Hustings and Norfolk County Courts was held at the Courthouse yesterday at 12 o'clock to pay their last tribute of respect to the memory of their deceased friend. Capt. C.W. Murdaugh called the meeting to order and moved that Mr. J.G. Holliday be called to the chair and Mr. W.N. Portlock was requested to act as secretary. The funeral services of the deceased took place at the Chestnut Street M.E. Church, Berkley, yesterday and were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Mr. Simpson, in the presence of a large concourse of citizens of Norfolk, Portsmouth and the county. The following well known gentlemen acted as pallbearers, Capt. J.W. Young, Capt. C.W.
