Martin, 404 Raleigh avenue, died at the University hospital early yesterday morning without regaining consciousness. Miss Martin was the niece of Alvah H. Martin, Republican national committeeman for Virginia. Until about a year ago she resided in Berkley. She was educated in Atlanta and Washington seminaries and was 27 years of age. Miss Martin arrived in Charlottesville Friday morning from Lynchburg, where she had been visiting. She fainted as she was dancing the first figure of the german and would have fallen to the floor, but for aid rendered by other dancers. She was taken to the University hospital, but did not regain consciousness. Death was pronounced due to cerebral hemorrhage. She had recently recovered from a recent attack of scarlet fever. Her parents were notified as soon as she was stricken and they started for Charlottesville before she died. They were intercepted at Richmond and told that the body was on its way to Norfolk and will arrive this morning at 7:30 o'clock. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. ********************************************************************* The funeral of Miss Lillian Elizabeth Martin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George G. Martin, 404 Raleigh avenue, will take place at 3 o'clock this afternoon at Epworth M.E. Church. The services will be conducted by Rev. S.T. Senter, pastor of the church, Rev. W.H. Osborne and Rev. E.T. Dadmun. Miss Martin died suddenly early Saturday morning at Charlottesville and the body, accompanied by the family, was brought to Norfolk yesterday morning. Martin took place yesterday at 3 p.m. at Epworth Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. S.T. Senter, Rev. E.T. Dadmun of Memorial Church and Rev. W.H. Osborne of St. Thomas P.E. Church, and was largely attended. There were many floral tributes. Burial was in Magnolia cemetery, Berkley. The pallbearers were: S.W. Lyons, Jr., W.H. Lyons, A.H. Martin, Jr., James G. Martin, Howard M. Martin, T.B. Gresham, Jr., Raymond S. Wicks and Turner Wilson, all cousins of Miss Martin.
