Martin Dec. 13, 2006, at his residence. He was born and raised in Suffolk. He retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard and the U.S. Navy with a total of 43 years of service. He was a 33rd Degree Mason and a member of the Greater Eureka Lodge No. 5 for many years. He leaves to cherish his memory five sons, Quintin, Othneil, Fencel, Dale and Selwyn; a daughter, Belinda; seven grandchildren, Carlos, Joval, Brittney, Marcia, Charles, Aaron and Amari; one brother, George E. Martin; one sister, Ann Elliot; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Mount Olive Baptist Church, 2401 Ludlow St., Norfolk, with the Rev. Raymond R. Barnes presiding. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery . The family will be receiving relatives and friends at 2605 Middle Ave., Norfolk. The remains are entrusted to Graves Funeral Home, Norfolk.
