Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, December 10, 1992 
Redell ``Uncle Duke'' Martin Sr., 59, of the 600 block of Norchester Ave., a
weapons handler, died Dec. 5, 1992, in DePaul Medical Center.

Mr. Martin was born in Pantego, N.C. He was employed by the Norfolk Naval Air
Station. He was a member of Bethlehem Church of Christ Disciples and was
chairman of Local 39. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.

Survivors include his his parents, Lucretia and David Martin of Norfolk; his
former wife, Rosa T. Martin of Norfolk; one daughter, Cynthia Clark Williams of
Norfolk; three sons, Redell Martin Jr. and David Martin, both of Norfolk, and
Cedric Martin Dale of Washington, D.C.; one sister, Rosa Bell Martin Demory of
Norfolk; one brother, Rudolph Martin of Chesapeake; and a host of grandchildren
and other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon today in Bethlehem Church of Christ
Disciples by Elder Joshua Edwards. Burial will be held today in Calvary Cemetery
. Twilight Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
