Marwitz, aged 80, died last night at 8 o'clock at his home, 710 Elizabeth street, after an illness of seven months. He had been in failing health for three years. He was a native of Germany and had lived in this country 61 years, mainly in and around Norfolk. He was the owner of the Atlantic Iron Works, Norfolk, from 1902 to 1913, when he sold to his son, C.A. Marwitz, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary R. Marwitz; four sons, Charles A. Marwitz, Jr., Norfolk; J.E. Marwitz, New York and J.F. and E.W. Marwitz, of Norfolk and three daughters, Mrs. Emma Parker, of Norfolk County; Mrs. Ida McGrath, of South Norfolk and Mrs. Minnie Barrett, of Virginia Beach. Funeral arrangements had not been completed last night.
