Norfolk - William Alphonso Maryland Jr., of 1155 Holt St., died Wednesday in a
hospital after a long illness.

A native of Norfolk, he was the husband of Mrs. Virginia Branche Maryland and a
son of Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Maryland and the late William A. Maryland Sr.

He was a freight handler for Norfolk, Baltimore, and Carolina Trucking Line.

Besides his widow and mother, surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie
Lawrence and Miss Deborah Maryland of Norfolk, and a grandchild.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in First Baptist Church, Bute
Street, by the Rev. E. Paul Simms. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with
Riddick Funeral service in charge.
