VIRGINIA BEACH - Ana Rueda Mascarinas passed away peacefully at her home Feb. 14, 
2011. She was a registered nurse and was a member of the Filipino Nurses 
Association and the Filipino Medical Association of Southeastern Virginia 
Auxiliary. Mrs. Mascarinas was a parishioner at St. Gregory the Great Catholic 
Church, where she was active in the Fil-am ministry and was a Eucharist minister. 
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arcadio and Leonarda Rueda; sisters, 
Estellita Nuque and Conchita Mata; and brother, Mario Rueda. Left to cherish her 
memory are her husband of 43 years, Teofilo C. Mascarinas, MD; children, Marjorie 
R. Mascarinas, Jeffrey R. Mascarinas, and Monique M. Sommerhiser and husband 
Nicholas; sister, Elisa Lim; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will 
receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, and Friday, Feb. 18, at 
Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 
18, at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. 
Saturday, Feb. 19, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church with entombment to 
follow in St. Mary's Catholic Church. A reception will follow the burial at the 
church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to 
Operation Smile or St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. You may pay condolences
