Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark Thursday December 21, 1933
Mrs. Sallie Helen Mashburn, 51, died yesterday morning at 4:30 o'clock at her 
residence, 1401 West Thirty-ninth street.  She was a daughter of the late I.B. 
Harris and Mrs. Sallie H. Harris, and a native of Durham, N.C.  She had resided 
in Norfolk for 28 years. 
Besides her husband, John H. Mashburn, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. 
M.A. King, Mrs. Florence B. Turner and Miss Gertrude Mashburn; two sons, John W. 
and William E. Mashburn, and two grandchildren, all of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. 
Nettie Culpepper and a brother, Dr. Harris, of Durham.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in Forest Lawn 
Cemetery and will be conducted by the Rev. W.W. Grover and the Rev. W.H. Garman.  
The cortege will leave the funeral home of James V. Derry, 346 West Princess 
Anne road, this afternoon at 2 o'clock.
