Norfolk Journal and Guide, Oct 21,1939
Funeral services for John Henry Mason, 48, of 824 Johnson Ave., who died at 
his home October 6, were held from New Calvary Baptist Church, October 10, 
with the Rev. D. Y. Campbell officiating.  Mr. Mason was born in Greenville NC 
and had lived here 25 years.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Olivia Mason, 
one son, Nathaniel, one sister, Mrs. Carrie Smith, one niece, Mrs. Pearl 
Holloman, and other relatives.  Interment was in Calvary Cemetery.
