A native of Chesapeake, he lived here more than 45 years. He was a son of Dealous and Mrs. Ellen Clark Mason. His wife, Mrs. Alice M. Mason, died recently. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Campostella. He was retired from Burton Lumber Corp. and was a member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. Surviving are three sons, Walter Mason Jr., Milton O. Mason and Carroll W. Mason and a daughter, Mrs. Maude A. Jones, all of Norfolk; two brothers, Frank Mason and Joseph Mason and three sisters, Mrs. Dora Cuffee, Mrs. Ellen Baker and Mrs. Annie Rankin, all of Chesapeake; five grandchildren and a grandchild. The family will meet at this home. The body was taken to Hale Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in First Baptist Church, Campostella, by the Rev. J.H. Wynn. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
