Virginian Pilot June 14, 1960 

Norfolk-Mrs. Alice Bowden Mason, 86, of 2710 Marlboro Ave., widow of Stephen 
Henry Mason and daughter of Parker T. and Mariah Burch Bowden, died Monday at 
9:50 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital.
A native of Chincoteague Island, she was a resident of Norfolk 54 years and for 
the last year and one-half lived with her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Everett Henry 
Mason, at 2804 Victoria Avenue.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Mrs. Jesse Lee Cralle of Richmond, and 
Mrs. Robert Bray Boyle of Kilgore, Tex., and a great-grandson, Robert Bray 
Boyle, Jr. of Kilgore.
A funeral service will be held in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Wednesday at 2 
p.m., by the Rev. Dr. William L. Lumpkin, of Freemason Street Baptist Church 
with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will assemble at 2804 Victoria 
Ave.
