Funeral rites for Mrs. Hattie M. Massenburg of 1612 Church Street were held
Thursday afternoon, Oct. 15, at First Baptist Church, Bute Street. The Rev. E.
Paul Simms, pastor, officiated.

Mrs. Massenburg, who died at her home Sunday morning after a long illness, was a
lifelong resident of Norfolk. She was a daughter of Jeremiah and Mrs. Janie
Wilkins, and the widow of John Massenburg.

She was a member of First Baptist Church and of Glorious Hope Tent No. 105.

Surviving her are a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Mullen of Norfolk; and a granddaughter,
Mrs. Olympia Lane of Philadelphia.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, with Riddick's Funeral Home in charge of
arrangements.
