Virginian-Pilot March 17 & 18, 1957
NORFOLK - Mrs. Mary Josephine Fiorini Matalune, widow of Pasquale Matalune, and 
daughter of the late Michael Angelo and Mrs. Julia Romana Fiorini, a native of 
Corleto Perticara, Italy, and a resident of Norfolk for 52 years, died yesterday 
at 1:30 p.m. at the residence, 209 West 17th St.
She was a member of Loggia No. 619, Cuore DiMaria and Gorizia, of Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church and of the Sodality.
Surviving are one son, Michael A. Matalune of Hammonton, N.J.; three daughters. 
Mrs. Pasquela Contrado and Mrs. Thomas Denofa of Norfolk, and Mrs. Lewis Milano 
of Virginia Beach; one sister, Mrs. Katherine Niegro of Norfolk; 13 
grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and 
several nieces and nephews.
The body was removed to the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, pending 
arrangements.

NORFOLK – The body of Mrs. Mary Josephine Fiorini Matalune, who died Saturday at 
the residence, 209 W. 17th St., will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for services tomorrow at 10 a.m. 
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the 
funeral apartments today at 7:30 p.m.
