Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark July 7, 1925

Mrs. Frances Gertrude Matthews, widow of Wesley D. Matthews and a daughter of 
the late Francis and Mary Schuyler DeCordy, a lifelong and well known resident 
of Norfolk, died yesterday morning.  She is survived by two sons, Frank D. and 
W. Schuyler Matthews; one sister, Miss Rose DeCordy and five grandchildren, 
Frank, Jr., Marjorie, Constance, Denby and Robert Schuyler Matthews. Funeral 
services will be held tomorrow at noon at Old St. Paul's Church.  The rector, 
the Rev. H.H. Covington, D.D. and the Rev. Myron B. Marshall, D.D., of St. 
Andrew's Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in Cedar Grove.
