Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, May 23, 1996 
Free at last, free at last, praise God Almighty, free at last. Mae Nevill 
Matthews, 61, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, May 19, 
1996.

She was a native of Tillery, N.C.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on May 25, 1996, at First Church of Christ 
Holiness U.S.A., conducted by Bishop Eugene Brown Sr. Graves Funeral Home is in 
charge of the arrangements. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery . The family will 
receive friends at the residence, 2221 Courtney Avenue.
