Simon O. Matthews, 62, a self-employed carpenter who lived at 1418 Whitcomb 
avenue, recently received final rites at Rosemont Christ Disciples Church. Burial 
was in Calvary Cemetery under direction of Hale Funeral Home.

Mr. Matthews was a native of Oriental, NC. He was a Norfolk resident 44 years, and 
was a member of Masonic and Fisherman lodges.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Rosanna Rodgers of New York and two brothers, 
Delma and Herbert Matthews of Norfolk.
