Mattox, wife of J. M. Mattox, died at 9:40 o'clock this morning in her home, 961 Reservoir Avenue, age 47 years. She was a native of Virginia, had lived in Norfolk twenty-five years, and was very highly esteemed, having many friends in the community. She is survived by her husband, her mother, Mrs. Missouri Thatch, a daughter, Mrs. Melvin P. Hudgins, and three brothers, S. S., J. S. and D. B. Thatch, all of Norfolk. The funeral takes place at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Park Avenue Baptist Church, the pastor, Rev. J. T. Riddick officiating. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
