Virginian Pilot October 30, 1962

                  J.M. MAUCK, 85, RETIRED BUYER FOR SWARTZ CO.

Jacob Milton Mauck, 85, of 1107 Cambridge Crescent , retired buyer for W.G. 
Swartz Co., died Monday at 11 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital after a short illness.
A native of Roanoke, he lived in Norfolk 50 years.  He retired in 1952 after 
more than four decades with the department store.
He was a son of Peter D. and Mrs. Sarah Litton Mauck and the husband of Mrs. 
Beulah Skinner Mauck.
He was a trustee and a steward of Larchmont Methodist Church and a member of its 
Peeks Bible Class.  Besides his widow, surviving are a sister, Mrs. C.L. Jones 
of Norfolk; a brother, J. Walker Mauck of Roanoke and a grandson, James Milton 
Mauck Jr. of Texarkana, Tex.
The body will be sent from Derry-Twiford Funeral Home to Larchmont Methodist 
Church for a funeral service Wednesday at 2 p.m.  Burial will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery.  The body will be in the church at 1 p.m.
