She was a native of Isle of Wight County, but had been a resident of Berkley forty-five years and was one of the best known women on this side of the river. She was the widow of Joseph Mayo and a daughter of the late John T. and Mrs. Sarah Lawrence Corran, of Isle of Wight County. She is survived by the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Alex. Pebworth, Mrs. J.I. Goodman, Mrs. W.J. Brown and James C. Mayo; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was a member of Memorial Methodist Church. The funeral will be conducted at the above residence Sunday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock and burial will be in the family lot in Magnolia Cemetery. Funeral and interment will be private.
