Norfolk Virginian January 22, 1892

McALPINE - On Thursday, January 21st, 1892, at  8 a.m., at his residence, corner 
Park Avenue and Brown Street, Norfolk, Va., EDWARD H. McALPINE, in the 39th year 
of his age.
Funeral will take place from the residence on SATURDAY, the 23rd instant, at 3 
o'clock p.m. Friends and acquaintances respectfully invited to attend.

The funeral services of the late Mr. E.H. McAlpine took place yesterday 
afternoon at 3 o'clock from St. Peter's P.E. Church, Brambleton Ward, the 
rector, Rev. W.P. Gravatt, officiating. The attendance was large and attested 
the esteem in which the deceased was held. The interment was in Elmwood 
Cemetery.  The pallbearers were as follows: Judge W.N. Portlock, W.F. Irvine, 
Thurmer H. Hoggard, John A. Mayer, Hugh P. Drummond, James F. Reid, Thos. J. 
Hoggard, James Mullins.
