McAndrews of the 1400 block of Buckingham Avenue, a lawyer specializing in bankruptcy and probate matters, died Friday in a city hospital. A native of Dunmore, Pa., he was the husband of the late Mary Christine Farrell McAndrews. He was a son of the late Edward P. and Bridget Barrett McAndrews. A member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, he was a member of the Board of Trustees of DePaul Hospital for 28 years and a trustee of James Barry Robinson Home for Boys for many years. Before entering the law practice in Norfolk in the 1950s, McAndrews was vice president of the Virginian Railway. He was with the Erie Railroad before that. He was a member of the Army Engineers in France during World War I. He held a law degree from Fordham University. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. John Winfield Enyart, Rockville, Md., and Miss Carol Ann McAndrews Martinez, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. John Flood, Scranton, Pa.; and eight grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Blessed Sacrament Church. A Christian Wake service will be held in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments at 7 p.m. today.
