George Cannon McCarrick Jr., 70, died Jan. 23, 2001.

The son of the late George C. McCarrick Sr. and Charlotte Garrett McCarrick, he 
was born in Norfolk and retired in 1989 from Norfolk Naval Supply Center and 
NARDAC as a senior computer analyst after 30 years of service. He was a member of 
St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and had served in the U.S. Army during the 
Korean War.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years, Barbara Hudgins McCarrick; two 
sons, George "Mac" C. McCarrick III and his wife, Linda, of Virginia Beach and 
Craig C. McCarrick and Janis Rackliffe of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, 
Michelle R. McCarrick and Kaynon B. McCarrick, both of Virginia Beach; and several 
nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, 
Beatrice Clark and Dorothy Bonniwell; and a son, Kenny McCarrick.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Rosewood Memorial Park with 
Father Philip Ghys O.S.B. officiating. A Christian Wake service will be held at 
Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, at 7:15 p.m. today where the family 
will remain until 8:30 p.m. to receive friends. Memorial donations may be made to 
St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.
