VIRGINIA BEACH - A 17-year-old student at Bayside High School was killed early 
Sunday when the car he was riding in went out of control and smashed into the 
rear of a parked school bus on South Greenwell Road.
Kenneth Guy McCarrick of the 4700 block of Bromfield Avenue was pronounced dead 
on arrival at Bayside Hospital after the 1:30 a.m. crash.
Another passenger in the car, Ken Howell, 17, of the 4400 block of Ocean View 
Avenue received head, face and chest injuries. He was listed in satisfactory 
condition Sunday night at Norfolk General Hospital.
The 17-year-old driver of the car was listed in serious condition Sunday night 
at Bayside Hospital.
Traffic Officer B. E. Johnson reported that the three were pinned in the car 
after the accident.
A Norfolk native, McCarrick is survived by his parents, George C. McCarrick and 
Barbara Hudgins McCarrick; and two brothers, George C. McCarrick III and Craig 
C. McCarrick, both of Virginia Beach.
He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.
A mass of the resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Gregory the 
Great Catholic Church. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park.
A Christian wake service will be held at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 
Bayside Chapel, at 7 tonight.
