Mrs. Evelyn Amanda McCarthy, 36, wife of Thomas Alexander McCarthy and daughter of 
the late J. A. Davis and Mrs. Sadie Mabel Belcher Davis, died yesterday at 2:25 
p.m. at the residence, 357 Picadilly Street. She was a native of Dinwiddie County 
and had been a resident of Norfolk for 20 years.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Miss Evelyn Patricia McCarthy, 
and a son, Thomas A. McCarthy, Jr., all of Norfolk, and several nieces and 
nephews.
The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Christ the King 
Catholic Church for funeral services Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. 
Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary services will be conducted at the funeral apartments 
tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Evelyn Amanda McCarthy. The body of Mrs. McCarthy, wife of Thomas Alexander 
McCarthy, who died Monday, will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments 
to Christ the King Catholic Church for funeral services tomorrow at 10 a.m. Burial 
will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary services will be conducted at the funeral 
apartments tonight at 7:30 o’clock.
