Virginian-Pilot  August 24, 1928
Mrs. Jeanette Burgess McCarty, aged 50, widow of John McCarty, a former resident 
of Norfolk, died yesterday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock in Richmond. She is survived 
by one daughter, Mrs. R. Harvey James; two grandchildren, and one brother, Herbert 
Burgess, all of Norfolk. Remains will be taken from the residence, 614 Maryland 
avenue, to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for funeral services tomorrow morning 
at 10 o’clock. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
