John P. McCauley, 54, husband of Mrs. Alice Gertrude Walsh McCauley and son of the 
late Rhody R. and Mrs. Mary Corcoran McCauley, a native and lifelong resident of 
Norfolk, died at 2 o’clock yesterday morning at the residence, 2000 Church street. 
Mr. McCauley was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, of the Holy Name Society 
of that church, of the Woodmen of the World and Fraternal Order of Eagles. Besides 
his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Charles F. Egolf, of Dayton, 
Ohio; Mrs. Thomas Winn, of Portsmouth, and Mrs. W. W. Bailey, of Savannah, Ga.; 
two sons, John Edward McCauley, U. S. Army and Walter McCaulev, U. S. Army; three 
brothers, W. A., Dave and Rhody McCauley, and a sister, Mrs. S. D. McKown, all of 
Norfolk. Remains were removed to the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments pending 
arrangements.
