Catherine Foskett McCloud, 88, of Summerville of Prince William County, Va., 
died May 27, 1999, in her residence.
 Mrs. McCloud was a native of Toronto, Canada, and a longtime resident of 
Princess Anne County. She was the daughter of the late George and Katie Rodger 
Foskett. She was a graduate of Oceana High School and Westhampton College. She 
did graduate work at the University of Mexico, Mexico City, and received her 
master's in Education from the University of Virginia.
 Mrs. McCloud began her career as a schoolteacher at Creeds High School in 
1932. She then taught at Oceana High School and was its assistant principal 
until 1951, when she moved to Maury High School, where she taught Spanish for 
21 years. She retired in 1972.
 Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Carlyle T. McCloud of Woodbridge, 
Va.; a son, John A. McCloud and his wife, Carole, of Manassas, Va.; and two 
grandchildren, Sarah McCloud of Germantown, Md., and Carolyn Paterno of 
Virginia Beach; and a great-grandson, Christopher John Paterno.
 A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Magnolia Cemetery, 
Norfolk, by the Rev. John Dean. The family will receive friends Saturday from 
10 to 11 a.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road.
