McCloud, formerly one of the best known residents of South Norfolk, died yesterday morning at 11:30 o'clock at his residence, 407 South street, Portsmouth, after an illness of a couple of months, in the 56th year of his age. He is survived by a widow, three children, Mrs. Mamie Vaughan and George R. McCloud, South Norfolk, and Mrs. Maud Darden, Portsmouth; two brothers,, J.A. McCloud, Jr., Jessie McCloud and one sister, Mrs. Lattimer, South Norfolk. Mr. McCloud had lived in South Norfolk from childhood until two years ago, when he moved to Portsmouth. The funeral will be conducted at the residence Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Rev. Mr. Craft of the Fourth Street Baptist Church, will conduct the funeral. **************************************************************** The funeral of George R. McCloud took place at the residence, 407 Third street, Portsmouth, yesterday afternoon and was very largely attended. Rev. Mr. Crater, pastor of the Fourth Street Baptist Church, conducted the service. The floral tributes were numerous and pretty. The interment was in Magnolia Cemetery. The following were pallbearers: Captain George Funk, T.H. Pritchard, H.B.J. Clark, L.C. Brinson, G.W. Britt, W.T. Trevillin and John T. Lovett.
