McCloud, Jr., a well known merchant of South Norfolk, died last night at 10:30 o'clock of heart disease, after a lingering illness of several months. The deceased was only about 16 years old and had attended Elon College, N.C., two sessions and was a student of one of Norfolk's business colleges up to the time of his illness. He was well known and respected in the community and had a bright future before him. His death come with much regret to the community. The funeral notice will appear later. **************************************************************** The funeral of Master Vernon McCloud, who died at the home of his father J.A. McCloud, Jr., in South Norfolk Wednesday night, will be conducted from the family residence this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Rev. P.S.C. Davis, pastor of South Norfolk Baptist Church, and Rev. S.S. Lambeth, D.D., pastor of Liberty Street M.E. Church, will conduct the service. The interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery and friends of the family are invited to attend.
