McCloud, one of the oldest and best known ladies of South Norfolk, died at her home on Poindexter Avenue last evening at 6:30 o'clock. She had been ill for ten years and confined to her bed most of the time during the last two years of her life. Her death was not unexpected. The deceased was 70 years of age, leaves a sorrowing husband, three sons, Messrs. John A., Jr., Jessie and George McCloud and two daughters, Mrs. J.K. Lane and Mrs. R.A. Lattimer. Mrs. McCloud was among the oldest members of Providence Christian Church, where she had held almost a life-long membership. She and her family were the first residents of South Norfolk, where she was held in the highest esteem by the community. During her younger years she was very active in church and society life and made hosts of friends.
