Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, March 29, 2001 
NORFOLK - Joseph McConnell , 76, of the 300 block of Beacon Hill Court, died
March 26, 2001.

Mr. McConnell was a retired longshoreman and member of Union United Church of
Christ and Masonic Lodge No. 67.

Survivors include his wife, Bettie McConnell; a daughter, Linda Baum of Virginia
Beach; two sons, Joseph McConnell Jr. of Connecticut and Havard Hughes of
Norfolk; a sister, Helen Smith of Norfolk; and a host of other relatives and
friends.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Union United Church of Christ by the
Rev. Joseph M. Copeland. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Graves Funeral Home
is in charge.
