He was a native of Washington and a resident of Norfolk for the past 75 years. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and the Catholic Knights of America. Besides his wife, Mrs. Mary Griffin McCourt, he is survived by four sons, the Rev. Frank J. McCourt, pastor of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Edenton, N.C.; Charles V. McCourt and John L. McCourt, both of Norfolk, and Robert I. McCourt, of Dunn, N.C.; five daughters, Mrs. Charles W. Gerloff, Miss Julia A. McCourt, Mrs. R. H. Bruns, Miss Flora E. McCourt and Mrs. Charles E. Woodsend, all of Norfolk; one sister, Mrs. John K. Livesay, of Richmond; 10 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial avenue, to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for funeral services Monday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments tonight at 8 o’clock.
