NORFOLK - The Rev. Father Francis J. McCourt, 94, of 3810 Llewellyn Ave., died 
Monday in a hospital.
He was a native of Norfolk and was a priest with the Catholic diocese of 
Charlotte, N.C.
Survivors include four nieces, Margaret Noga and Shirley Gilliken, both of 
Norfolk, Helen Bowerman of Virginia Beach and Elizabeth A. Woodson of South 
America, and six nephews, Father Charles W. Gerloff of Arlington, F.M. Gerloff, 
Paul Gerloff and John J. Bruns, all of Norfolk, J.B. Gerloff of Virginia Beach 
and Raymond H. Bruns of Chesapeake.
A Joyful Mass of the Resurrection will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Holy 
Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, with 
H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, in charge.
A Christian wake will be held at 7:30 p.m. today in the church. The body will 
remain in the church after the service. Memorial donations may be sent to the 
building fund of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
