McCourt, 67, of 9468 Hickory St., died in his home Saturday morning. A lifelong resident of Norfolk, he retired from the commissioner of revenue office after 28 years. He was Secretary of Elks Lodge 38 for 12 years. He was the husband of Mrs. Eleanor Callan Hahne McCourt and a son of Frank and Mrs. Mary Griffin McCourt. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and an Army veteran of World War II. Besides his widow, he is survived by two stepsons, Robert Hahne and William Hahne of Norfolk; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Catherine Morris of Norfolk and Mrs. Constance Schneider of Gautier, Miss.; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Brass and Mrs. Elizabeth Woodsend, and two brothers, the Rev. Frank J. McCourt and Charles V. McCourt, all of Norfolk; and 10 grandchildren. The Office of the Dead will be recited in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments tonight at 7:30. A Requiem Mass will be said in Holy Trinity Catholic Church Monday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
