Murphy McCoy, died in a Norfolk hospital Friday. A native of Isle of Wight County, he lived in the Norfolk-Virginia Beach area most of his life. He was a Veteran of World War I and a member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 21. He was a retired employe of National Cleaners. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. June Dozier of Virginia Beach and Mrs. Gloria Williams of Chesapeake; a sister, Mrs. Esther Sams of Orlando, Fla.; two brothers, Horace E. McCoy of Norfolk and Ray W. McCoy of Suffolk; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Road, Monday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. James W. Draper of Memorial United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
