Norfolk - A funeral service for William O. McCoy of 1045 Vista street will be
held Friday at 2 p.m. in St. John AME Church. The Rev. Albert H. Powell will
officiate.

A native of Norfolk, Mr. McCoy was a retired clerk from the Norfolk Naval Base.
He was a son of the late Humphrey McCoy and Mrs. Sarah Dawley McCoy and the
husband of Mrs. Ruth B. McCoy.

He was a steward at St. John AME Church, active with the Boy Scouts of America,
YMCA, Royals and Hiawatha clubs. He was a graduate of Hampton Institute.

Besides his widow, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Inez Elliott of
Portsmouth and Mrs. Lois Edwards of Philadelphia.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with B. F. King Funeral Home in charge of
arrangements.
