McCurdey, Jr., son of a widely known Norfolk druggist was drowned. His father, Neil A. McCurdey, Sr., who is connected with Etheridge’s Pharmacy, 1000 Church Street, his mother and other member of the family, saw the boy a youth of 18, go down after being seized with cramps. Frantic efforts were made by the party to rescue him, but the body was apparently carried out into the bay and had not been recovered early this afternoon. The McCurdey family, who reside at Diamond Springs, in Norfolk County, went to the fishery plant early in the day fishing and bathing. They had been in the water only a few minutes when young McCurdey uttered a cry and was seen to thrash about in an effort to make shore. Before his father and other men in party could get to him, the body disappeared.
