Dennis J. McDermott, Well-Known Attorney Claimed By Death
Dennis J. McDermott, aged 53, for years a prominent Norfolk attorney, died at 
4:25 o’clock yesterday morning at his residence, 280 Lucille avenue. He was a 
native of Baltimore and had been a resident of Norfolk for the past 30 years. He 
is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mae L. McDermott; four daughters, Mrs. G. M. 
Saunders, of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. H. L. Horton, and the Misses Marguerite and 
Cecelia McDermott; three sons, J. D., H. V. and C. C. McDermott; two 
grandchildren and one sister, Miss Elizabeth McDermott, all of Norfolk, and two 
brothers, Frank and Albert McDermott, of Baltimore.
The body will be taken from H. D. Oliver’s funeral apartments, 610-12 East 
Freemason street, to St. Mary’s Catholic Church for services tomorrow morning at 
10 o’clock. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Mr. McDermott was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.
