Ledger-Star July 14, 1916
Miss Mary Anne McDevitt died early this morning at the Norfolk Protestant 
Hospital, after a short illness, aged 26 years. She was a native of Ireland and 
had lived in Norfolk for four years, for the past two years in the family of Mr. 
and Mrs. E. D. Hobbs, 828 Graydon avenue, and was very highly esteemed. The 
funeral occurs at 10 a.m. tomorrow at H. D. Oliver’s funeral apartments, 610-12 E. 
Freemason street, Rev. T. E. Waters, of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, officiating. 
Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
