The funeral of Mrs. Lena R. McDonald, 60, of 852 Johnson Ave., was held at the 
St. John A.M.E. Church with the pastor, the Rev. J. A. Young, officiating on 
last Sunday. She died in New York City, Saturday, January 2. She was a native 
of Charlottesville, VA, and had lived here for 45 years. She was a member of 
the United Order of Tents. She is survived by her husband, William T. Johnson; 
her sister, Mrs. Julia Randolph; one son, William; one daughter, Mrs. Florence 
Stanback. Others attending the funeral from New York City were: Mr and Mrs. R. 
Brooks, Mrs. Beatrice Taylor, Richard Jenkins, Lena Taylor, and sister. She 
was buried in Calvary Cemetery.
