McDonough, beloved wife of J. W. McDonough, died at 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 27th, at her residence, 307 Chestnut street. The deceased was a resident of Berkley for thirty-five years and was esteemed by a large circle to whom she had endeared herself by a marked gentleness of disposition and lovely character, which she displayed in her kind thoughtfulness and earnestness for everyone. Her demise will be greatly regretted by her many friends. Mrs. McDonough was a faithful and consistent member of St. Matthew’s Chapel. The funeral will take place on Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock from her late residence, to which her friends and acquaintances are invited. Interment will be in St. Mary’s cemetery, Norfolk. Mrs. McDonough formerly lived in Portsmouth and had a wide circle of friends in that city. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Chapel, Berkley. She was 66 years of age and is survived by her husband, Mr. J. W. McDonough; two daughters, Mrs. G. G. Luke, of Brooklyn. N.Y., Miss Mamie McDonough, of Berkley, and one son, Mr. Henry McDonough, of Berkley. She was a cousin of Mr. Jas. O’Rourke, of Portsmouth. The funeral will take place from her late residence tomorrow afternoon at 3 o’clock, Rev. Father Kelliher, pastor of St. Matthew’s Chapel, conducting the services.
