Mary E. "Mom" McEachin, 67, of the 1400 block of Bolton St., died Nov. 29, 2001, 
at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Born in Wakefield, Va., she retired in 1995 as a nursing assistant with Sentara 
Norfolk General Hospital, after 27 years of service and also retired as the 
manager of the soup kitchen of St. Mary's Catholic Church, after two years of 
service. She received her education at St. Joseph's Catholic School. She was a 
member of Basilica Of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church and Androgyrous 
Charter No. 315 Under A.A.S.R. Masonic Inc. Supreme Council of America.

She is survived by four daughters, Shelia Harris, Carolyn Dildy, Deborah Harris 
and Kathy Gibson; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sons-in-law; 
five nephews; a loving niece, Frances Johnson; and a host of other relatives and 
friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Frances and Walter Smith; and a 
sister, Ruby L Brown.

A funeral will be held at noon Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church by Father 
John Dorgan with burial in the church cemetery. A wake service will be held 
Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Hale Funeral Home.

We Love you Mom; you fought the battle. Rest until we meet again.
